Development near Baybrook Mall snags 4 restaurant leases including Hopdoddy, Snooze

Several restaurant chains are heading out to southeast Houston near Baybrook Mall.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, Mod Pizza and Main Squeeze Juice Co. inked leases at a new shopping center at 820 Bay Area Blvd., according to a press release. Houston-based Baker Katz, a commercial real estate brokerage company, acquired the 2-acre property in 2017.

The site is home to two buildings totaling about 15,000 square feet. According to marketing materials on Baker Katz’s website, Snooze, Main Squeeze and Mod Pizza will be in one building, while Hopdoddy will be in the other structure, which includes another 3,500-square-foot space.

Construction was completed in the first quarter of 2018, per the release. Houston-based Levinson Alcoser Associates LP was the architect, but a general contractor was not provided. Lunden McGill with Baker Katz represented the landlord in all of the deals.

Here are more details about the leases, according to the release:

The restaurants are expected to open in late 2018, a Baker Katz spokesperson confirmed.

“This has been a tremendous project for our team from start to finish,” Baker Katz Principal Jason Baker said in the release regarding the project at 820 Bay Area Blvd. “Our decision initially to purchase this property stemmed from the limited supply of quality retail product in the area, and we knew we could create a unique setting to attract leading restaurant concepts who could utilize the amenities these two buildings provide — prominent glass throughout the buildings, large wrap-around patios and visibility to Bay Area Boulevard.”

Another local Baker Katz project includes redeveloping a 17,000-square-foot historic property at 1919 Washington Ave. with Houston-based Braun Enterprises.
