Karla came to Baker Katz with valuable human resources and financial experience,
including managing more than 15 offices of employee information, handling accounts
receivable and accounts payable, processing payments and more. As part of the property
management accounting team at Baker Katz, she will manage daily billing transactions in both
accounts receivable and accounts payable, process payments, serve as the primary point of
contact for tenants and assist with monthly bank reconciliations, audits and other projects such
as year-end tax returns and setting yearly budgets.
Throughout her career, Karla was a human resources clerk with Fulbright & Jaworski,
assisting with special projects such as translating documents from English to Spanish and
coordinating firm events. She later served as an accounting specialist with GCC, where she
handled client inquires, expenses and important financial documents.
Karla currently attends Houston Baptist University and will graduate in 2019 with a
bachelor’s degree in finance. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her
son, Alexander, as well as visiting with family and friends, reading, running, and baking. She also
enjoys helping in her community, and volunteers once a month with the Houston Food Bank.
