Jason Baker, Principal at Baker Katz, participated in the CCIM Annual Commercial Real Estate Forecast Competition as a panelist weighing in on the discussion around retail real estate. He noted how the commercial real estate industry can adjust, recover and move on from the tumultuous few years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Much of the conversation centered around how business and restaurant owners can approach the challenges that they’ll continue to face in the months ahead; for example, managing the upward trends of labor and material costs that are likely here to stay. He added that the state of Texas continues to be a great place to invest, and Baker is confident that trends will be a boon for commercial real estate developers, investors and owners as the world begins to put the COVID-19 pandemic in the rear-view mirror.
