Baylor College of Medicine unveiled plans for the Lillie and Roy Cullen Tower, a 503,000-square-foot education building near Cambridge and Old Spanish Trail. Designed by the S/L/A/M Collaborative architecture firm, the 11-story tower marks the first phase of Baylor’s planned Health Sciences Park, an 800,000-square-foot project that will integrate medical education and research next to patient care at Baylor Medicine and Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center on the McNair Campus. Planned for completion in 2026, the building is next to the Texas Medical Center’s 37-acre Helix Park life sciences campus where Baylor is the anchor tenant in the project’s first building. Baylor said it received a $30 million contribution from the Cullen Foundation, the Cullen Trust for Health Care and the Cullen Trust for Higher Eduction for the project. To date, Baylor has received $100 million in gifts toward its $150 million philanthropic goal for the project.
HCA Houston Healthcare has opened HCA Houston Rehabilitation Hospital Southeast at 4801 E. Sam Houston South in Pasadena. With 31 private rooms, the inpatient facility provides care for patients who need long-term care after a stroke; brain, back and spinal cord injuries; or other trauma.
Houston-based Baker Katz, a commercial real estate brokerage firm specializing in retail tenant representation, investment sales, and project development and leasing, bought a 2.9-acre retail property at 5445 Fairmont Parkway at Beltway 8 in Pasadena. The acquisition included a 22,241-square-foot former Pep Boys building next to Home Depot. Ben Brown with Baker Katz represented the buyer. Mark Raines of JLL represented the seller.
Kids R Kids plans to open an early childhood education center in Bridgeland community in Cypress in summer 2024, according to the Howard Hughes Corp. Bridgeland resident EJ Davis owns the business, which will serve children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The two-story, 20,000-square-foot center will be at Tuckerton and Westgreen in Parkland Village. The project team includes Alt Architecture and Millis Development & Construction.
Quest Integrity Group leased a 14,000-square-foot building at 11150 Cash Road in Stafford as temporary overflow space after the company merged with Baker Hughes. Cotton Munson of Davis Commercial represented the landlord.

Pelican Builders completed construction of the Westmore, a 33-unit luxury condo midrise at 2323 W. Main in Upper Kirby. Mirador Group designed the midcentury-modern style building, which broke ground in February 2021 and is 30 percent sold. Douglas Elliman Development Marketing is marketing the residences with prices starting at $995,000.
