Houston’s early risers are getting tasty incentives not to hit that snooze button.
Snooze A.M. Eatery, a Denver-based breakfast and brunch restaurant, signed a lease in Montrose for a 3,723-square-foot building at 3217 Montrose Blvd., near Smoothie King and Aladdin Mediterranean Cuisine. This will be the first Houston location for Snooze A.M. Eatery and is set to open in early 2016, according to a company release.
Houston-based real estate agency Baker Katz represented the restaurant. Houston-based Westmont Partners LLC represented the building’s landlord.
Founded in 2006, Snooze A.M. Eatery is a breakfast and brunch chain that takes creative liberties with breakfast staples. One of Snooze’s most Southern offerings is its chilaquiles Benedict, made from a stack of ranchero-sauced tortillas and cheese covered in barbacoa beef with poached eggs, roasted poblano Hollandaise, pico de gallo and Cotija cheese.
The restaurant won’t have as much competition in the area as it may have thought. Plans for a Melange Creperie brick-and-mortar location fell through earlier this week due to “unforeseen circumstances,” but the owners still say they’re on the hunt for a site in Montrose or Midtown.
And Radical Eats, a vegetarian- and vegan-oriented restaurant with longtime Houston roots, closed its Montrose location in May. Chef and owner Staci Davis said she’ll likely open another project in a less expensive area.
